It’s your last chance before winter sets in to seek solace from old hierarchies of nation, ethnicity and gender along with a little break from lumbering along towards Christmas under the load of impossibly large debt.
This year, Art Farm is throwing out all restraint and is expanding its weekend of tricks with a musical warm-up to Art Harvest on Friday night, October 28 by foregrounding one of its unlistenable super groups of musicians, The High Plains Drifters (aka JC and The Champagne Ramblers.) Vast teams of lyricists have labored the songs to death and innumerable hours are being wasted promoting this, but they’re hot and how you relate to music will change forever before the night is over. So slip on your toe-tapping kicks, come early, bring your instruments if you wish and join in for a night of listening to “Suzuki Gunn,” at his yodeling pinnacle, “Sister Jane,” the smokin’ hottie with a banjo and “Scary Scott,” straining with unpredictability on Art Farm’s mighty Wurlitzer.
Don’t forget to return Saturday and Sunday and see all the other examples of aesthetic output by the residents this year. We’ll be updating this page frequently, so check back often for latest celebrity reports on the band members and any new developments, which might make it worth your consideration to come.
